Advertising on PinkDome?

Yep, you're right...that is a Carole Keeton Strayhorn ad you see on PinkDome. Some people left comments in the "what the hell?" vein yesterday about it and I just thought I'd address some of the questions.

  • Yes, we can approve or decline any advertisement on PinkDome.
  • Someone asked if Rick Perry were to buy an ad would I run it on PinkDome. The answer is yes. A.) Because if Rick Perry's campaign is really stupid enough to think that spending money on PinkDome is good stewardship of their campaign marketing dollars who am I to stop them from illustrating that stupidty so well? B.) Why would you be so offended to see a healthy presence from any candidate. I support campaigning for office. C.) They pay real American dollars to advertise on PinkDome. Until you guys start sending me wads of cash I get paid wherever I can.
  • Why the hell shouldn't Carole Keeton Strayhorn advertise on one of the most widely read politically-focused websites in Texas? I happen to think it shows wisdom and is a great step in political campaigning that a governor's campaign realizes the superior intellect and desirable demographic that are the PinkDome readers!

    • Let me also just go ahead and say PinkDome still doesn't give a shit about the actual mechanics of politics or individual candidates. Do I like Carole Keeton Strayhorn? Sure. Why not? So don't get your panties all in a wad about it.

    PinkDome is right. I was pleased to see the ad from Ms. Strayhorn and to know that some of that money from my fellow trial lawyers is going to support my favorite blog rather than going to waste.

    I think it's great. Haven't y'all read The Science of Muddling Through? We may have to move a little more slowly from the extreme right as we'd like to.

    I'm tired of throwing my D vote in the trashcan as I exit the poll.

    Learned nothing from Nader? We've got two Naders in this race. We need to lose losing for the sake of idealism. Why not support a realistic candidate?
