Sugar Land Mayor David Wallace has annouced he will run as the write-in candidate for Tom Delay's old seat, mainly because his name is easier to spell than Shelly Sekula-Gibbs. Crazy Bob Talton and little Charlie Howard are out because they can't run a write-in campaign without resigning their state rep seats. So now David Wallace is gonna start this write-in campaign to get in position for the race for the seat in 2008.
From today's Houston Chronicle:
"The whole write-in theory is ludicrous," Austin political consultant Bill Miller said. "It is handing the seat to the Democrats. Republicans cannot win this seat with a write-in candidate, I don't care what name they write in."
Bill Miller of HillCo Partners, Austin's premiere lobbying firm, has a good insight on Republican politics in this state.
Good luck!
Bush 41 or Barbara. Someone sign one of them up.
