Remember all the hubbub about John Mark Karr? The self-confessed killer of JonBenet Ramsey? Remember how all the news channels made a big deal about stupid little meaningless nothings, like the fact that he rode in business class from Thailand to the U.S.? Remember that?
Turns out it was all for not. Yesterday, the Boulder District Attorney announced that they will not be seeking murder charges against Karr after his DNA did not match samples that were taken from the scene.
End result? Karr may get extradited to California to face unrelated child porn charges ... and his name now garners more than 11 million Google hits.
I can only hope that this latest twist makes Nancy Grace's head explode, coating her dressing room walls in a gooey mixture of ego, flared nostrils, and lies.
See, I'd rank this higher than a 6. At least an 8. I mean, they had morning shows interviewing passengers that were on the same flight from Thailand to the states.
Howard Kurtz (and I believe EVERYTHING that he says) said that "it instantly goes down with the greatest media embarrassments in modern history." That's got to at least merit an 8.

Thanks to the media coverage I was able to discover reruns of the Blue Collar Comedy Show. Fortunately they all led with the same old tired beauty pageant video, so the reaction time to hit the remote button was virtually instantaneous.
Question though, wouldn't you have to be pretty high on the despicable radar to get caught for sex crimes in Thailand?
SuperWow -- Paris Hilton and Richard Jewel go down as some of the most embarrassing coverage in media history.
Crazy pedophile guy? Ehhhh... notosmuch.
You've gotta admit though, crazy pedophile guy ended the conflict in Israel and Lebanon, at least as far as cable news coverage goes.
Actually, the MSM did note pretty early on that his confession could be ... the rantings of a crazy pedophile who was not involved in JonBenet's death... On the oversaturated news coverage scale, I think this was about a 6. Whereas Natalie Holloway was, say, a 9. And Chandra Levy was a 9. And Mary Kay LaTourneau was, oh, a 7. (You know, in the Dumb Oversaturation News Coverage Olympics.... )
So, basically, I'm rating this as stupid, versus, say, extremely stupid. Good going, mainstream media!!!!
