Now they are moving on to HB4. They reall are going to midnight! I'm online and chatting with staffers. We've invinted a drinking game. On HB3 it was every time you heard "broken promise" you had to drink. Sylvester Turner almost single-handedly got me wasted.
Oh, and a staffer says a special thanks to Karen Brooks for making, "I love my brother" a talking point on the House Floor tonight. Thank God that's made it into the record.

JEESH...now we're on to HB5...for Cigarette taxes. Everyone light up!
It looks like every female in the House is up at the podium with cigars and cigarettes smoking before they take on the bill. Peggy Hamric looks a little uncomfortable!

They're passing out all the bills tonight, suspending the rules and passing them on third reading. They are reminding us we have meetings tomorrow but after that see ya sucka's we are gone for a few days.

No money from the cigarette tax goes to anti-smoking campaigns, education or programs. It ALL goes to property tax relief. Dawna Dukes thinks it's odd cigars (the choice for rich folks) are not taxed. Hmmmm.

So what is with the Austin delegation; Rose, Strama, & Howard all voted with the R's on HB 3.
Really disappointed with Howard - guess Bad Bentzin would have voted the same. This bill has more exemptions than Anna Nicole Smith.
