We just had to see it for ourselves. You know...just to make it real. The Tyler newspaper has this long story with all the contributions to Merritt's opponent. Remarkably they all come from some group called Texas Republican Legislative Campaign Committee. Weird, huh? You would read that and think why would a Republican campaign committee not contribute to the incumbent? The incumbent must be really horrible if his own political party isn't supporting him, right?
So, just for fun I called the Texas GOP HQ. They had no idea who this group was. They had no idea who its officers were. They had no idea how I could contact the Williams campaign to ask. Then they only thing they did know with only a slight degree of certainty was that the group was not affiliated with the TX GOP.
Shocking, I know...everybody already knew that months ago. The fun for me is calling people and asking them and watching them act like they have no idea what I'm talking about.
The person you spoke with on the phone was being held in a headlock by Leininger, whispering, "You know nothing, y'hear? Myah."
Yeah, Dr. Jim doesn't contribute in his own name. He contributes through the PAC.
No way in hell the GOP didn't know anything about it.
you sniff em out, PD!
