Twisted Logic?

CNN's Quick Votes are hilariously simple-minded sometimes. This particular one struck me as very odd. How can you 'cheat justice' by being dead? Don't you think the only One True Judge, God, is judging him? Don't you think it's worse than any earthly judgement?

WWJD with Milosevec? Uhm...fiery pit of hell probably? That seems pretty justice served to me. A full 51% of those on the extremely un-scientific survey said "Yes, he is cheating justice."

Aww hell. I was just about to link to a Bible verse here when i stumbled on this Google result for 'judge others Bible verses"

Jesus warns against judging someone else for their sin when you yourself are sinning even worse. That is the kind of judging Jesus commanded us not to do.
Wow, news to me! I had no idea there were 'degrees of sinning'. Is there a handbook? My using the Lord's name in vain is less of a sin than your coveting your neighbor's ass? I go to a better Heaven than you? Bible scholars please weigh in, and if your religion says this is true? Your religion sucks, become a Methodist.

I was always taught that all sins are equal in the eyes of God. A sin is a sin is a sin, whether it's murder or telling your parents you were at the library when you were out drinking a Corona in the bed of somebody's pickup. While there aren't any Bible verses that say that specifically, neither are there any verses that "rank" sins.

I think the point is that none of us are God, so stop trying to act like it and judge other people since we are all flawed. That being said, we are a nation of laws, many flawed, but all somehow put on the books. Many of the laws are based on common concepts of right and wrong derived from earlier religious teachings. This dude needed to be locked up until he could check in with God on his behavior.

It is highly doubtful Jesus ever said any such thing. I would refer you to an excellent book, "Misquoting Jesus" by Bart Ehrman.
