There's a movement afoot to create a national holiday called, Terri's Day, to honor Terri Schiavo and the 'Culture of Life.' We think we'd like to propose some additional national holidays so we can take more paid holidays and spend them honoring things we think are worth honoring.
Here are few, help us get a million sponsors nationwide to send these to Congress:
I'm too Drunk to go to Work Day. (Celebrated every other Friday from June to September)
No More Stupid Day. (This day requires all stupid people to stay inside so the rest of us don't have to deal with them for just one friggin' day!)
Blogger Appreciation Day. (We so deserve praise at least one day of the year)
Come up with your own in the comments. You can also comment on the absurdity of the Culture of Life movement using a dead girl as their champion. Or, you could comment on how this proposed holiday in no way diminishes the important contributions and honorable holidays we have now...Terri Schiavo Day/Martin Luther King, Jr. Day...same thing.
I'd like to see a "Cellphones Suck" day (or, maybe call it "How Important Do You Think Your Little Life Is, Anyway?" day, where anyone caught using their device in public in a restaurant, restroom, in their car, in the grocery store, or as soon as they get off of work - could be held down while their precious little gadget is inserted rectally.

Gay Day? National Day of Pride? This is a gay-friendly blog or some other such horrible thing after all. I know we need National Ass-F*#$ing Day! We can celebrate by sodomizing minors and doing lots of drugs!
OK wtf? I don't get the leap of logic from being gay to being a pedofile or a drug addict.

I find the vitriol to which you all responded to an obvious joke to be vastly amusing. Tongue in cheek, scathingly satirical? You just got caught taking yourself too seriously.

Take a US Citizen to Vote Day...
We'll schedule it for the first Tuesday in November. Since only 33% of Americans vote...there's lot's of people who CLEARLY haven't heard of this particular "special" day in the United States.
At the risk of stating theobvious, isn't every day a celebration of life? I'm not clear what the culture of life could be.
