A group has offered students $100 rewards for 'turning in' radical professors at UCLA. Apparently, they'd like to burn them in a bonfire just off campus. While the group is not affiliated with the university of its alumni association. It's just a lone wingnut out to revive good old fashioned witchhunts. We're eager to see how the faculty that must be quaking in their boots will deal with the threat. Nothing to see here folks, just one more attack on academia. Can't have anybody dissenting or learning anything but Bush propoganda in our classrooms. Oh, unless it's a class about Jesus our Lord and Savior.
I am also opposed to the "witch hunt," but with all due respect, if you think that what students are learning on college campuses is Bush propaganda, or that the "dissenters" on campus are liberals, then you are revealing a true misunderstanding of academic culture.
