Bentzin modeled his campaign in the style of Perry's, spending loads of cash, pretending that all is well with the status quo, and even bringing the Governor himself out on the trail on Monday. None of that worked at all. Over 60% of the voters in HB 48 cast their ballots for a Dem. Had 73 more people bothered to turn out and vote for Howard, the race would be over. It's no matter though, because more attention will be paid to that district now, and more people will see how flawed the Perry/Bentzin/Big Money machine really is.
