Kind of. The city council was going to vote hiring a lobbying firm for $68,000 using taxpayer money. Mayor Bill White gave the council a big ol' "Fuck it" and decided he'd try to raise the money from private funds. Cities need crooked lobbyists, too, y'all. Someone call up Bill and give him $68,000 so we can see what Houston can inject into the political debates!
