Shannon Flaherty, DeLay's spokesperson responded to a recent poll showing support for Tom DeLay plummeting in his home district with a quick dismissal. Now, we know polls are not the end all be all way to measure things. However, we do understand they can be scientifically significant if the sample size is appropriate, the questions aren't biased, and if they are conducted on the right target group. But, not Shannon...nope. None of that suits her.
Actually, Shannon..let us break it down for you. Polls are not smart, they are polls. The Texas voter that participates in a poll is just as smart on the phone with the pollster as they are when they go in the voting booth. Secondly, the state elects Republicans because, in no small part, Mr. DeLay was the puppetmaster of a mid-decade gerrymandering scheme that eliminated their districts. That...and a lot of Democrats are just pussies.
All that being said, we still think you could probably use a vacation Shannon. You're overworked. Call us, we have a great little getaway on a nice quiet beach we'll loan you for a weekend.
"Flaherty said Texas voters are much smarter than pollsters, which is why the state continues to elect Republicans."
It doesn't have anything to do with B.S. redistricting? What a joke,
