Perry Makes A Stupid Ass Statement

Gov. Rick Perry said lawmakers need to put aside rancor and partisanship so they can come back on Wednesday and begin again on school finance and property tax relief.

There's more, but let's just look at this part. Republicans love nothing more than to throw out the word 'mandate' at every other opportunity and for once we think it applies. Eight votes FOR is not partisanship, dumbass...it's a mandate.

Back to the drawing board and quit sending around the same old shit.

Comments are now fixed, btw.

Aios Mofo...Perry is such a Pig Fucker

The real shame is Perry can sign the bill that pays for school funding that is currently before him. Leg should have never given him that out. Saves face blaming others and planning for reelection. KBH being out, leaves him heads up against Strayhorn (tough to debate but probably deadmeat in primary) She gets business to match trial lawyers dollar for dollar or more for Perry.

He then blames the democrats and becomes the longest serving gov in the history of Texas. Wants to make you puke.

Excellent analysis Dos Centavos. It's actually right out of the Ronald Reagan playbook, and as we know, it worked for him too. I haven't quite been able to figure out Carole's strategy. Last I heard the Republican primary voters were pretty conservative and I just can't imagine who would want to vote in the Republican primary just to help her beat Perry. The Democrats have to remember her run against Pickle, plus the fact that they have other real Democrats to vote for that same day. Voters who are anti-politicians in general can wait and support Kinky. How many trial lawyers are planning to vote in the Republican primary anyway? Perry is the kind of candidate who just gets in better condition the more he campaigns, sort of like an athlete. Carole's just making him run some extra laps at best.

Pretty astute for someone who was buying oldhickory's line. You remember Pickle?

Don't Mess w/ Pink at July 26, 2005 11:37 PM

I knew Mr. Pickle very well. I am trying to get you guys to give me clues on oldhickory, but I'm very new to blogging as a way of communicating...I'm not so good at it. Still prefer face to face. I'm not at the Capitol so I don't have a clue.

Perry Makes A Stupid Ass Statement, doesn't that happen every time his lips move?

P.S. I don't mean oldhickory the person, but oldhickory the cigarette tax, teacher coalition theory. By the way, I really like all the comments by people with pink in their webname. Don't let the sausage factory make you lose your appetite.

Realist at July 27, 2005 8:53 AM

Don't worry. I've been around the factory long enough to have developed immunity. I'm so cynical, I've come full circle back to a kind of idealism. Hmmm...cynical idealism. Kind of like intelligent design.

It's not like the point I made re the tobacco lobby and the education industry lobby working together to kill the special session was any huge secret. I agree with everyone that the tobacco-teacher alignment is only one tiny slice of the pie, in terms of the special interests and pressure groups who team up to derail the special session. I'm sorry if that "theory" upsets some folks, but it's a fact. They "worked the same side of the stree" and it's an odd couple. Here's one that will upset Republicans who want property-tax relief: Look at the Texas Public Policy Foundation: they are tied to Perry at the hip... their lead person was even on the Carribean private cruise Perry took last year... but during the ongoing debates, the TPPF has been working the same angle as lawfirms (gasp - even trial lawyers perhaps) to kill any attempt at a payroll tax or tax on partnerships.

There are many tales in the capitol city. These are just a few of them.

Don't Mess w/ Pink, I mean this as a compliment...you get it.

Realist at July 27, 2005 4:28 PM

And I'll take it as one. ;>
