Losing Touch With Reality

So, here we are again. How y'all doin? Bitter yet? Sure you are. But, let's keep our wits about us. Unlike the Republican consultant Ray Sullivan that said this to the DMN:

"If the Legislature can pump billions more into schools, provide some property tax relief and impose academic rigor and put schools on a firmer financial footing, they will be seen as great successes," Mr. Sullivan said.

Really? If monkeys could fly out of my ass I could make a few bucks on the carny circuit.

Memo To Ray Sullivan: My Aunt Fanny!! Just who is supposed to pony up these billions of dollars? The same people who will pay less in property taxes? Let's just throw more money down the black hole of public education reformers & consultants - what a concept!!!!

"Great successes"? How about "great magicians". What a load.

Everyone's in such a good mood this morning, um, afternoon. Rough night?

Sullivan also said he thought Perry could make education a campaign theme. I'm guessing the theme song will be "The Wall."

Where's my bloody mary ...

Tax cigarettes and booze. The addicts and alcoholics always forget to vote, and it's the right thing to do anyway.

When Bill Clinton was going through a really rough period before his reelection as President, I saw James Carville give a speech that really made a very good point. He said the election wasn't a yes or no on Clinton, but a race between people. Someone is going to have to beat Perry and I think Sullivan is just pointing that out.

Au contraire. I never forget to vote.

At least you don't remember forgetting...right?

As long as we don't forget the beer and taco exemption, I'm all for it.

Edmonton dominated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and the 4-0 margin in Game 6 makes it hard to imagine the Oilers not hoisting hockey's Holy Grail above their heads in less than 48 hours. And it would not come as any shock to see defenseman Chris Pronger, who had another 31-minute night, take the honors for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.
