Dear PinkDome:
Bob Nichols, he sets on TXDOT, Staples is on Transportation committee
also. Plus Nichols flew Staples around in all his campaigns.
Thanks for the interest, this campaign will be grassroots because the
big boys are against us.
The voters will win, watch and see.
Melanie Curtsinger
Campaign Manager for David Kleimann for Texas State Senate.
I'm glad someone else pointed that out. Nichols "sits" on TxDOT, and you "set" your palm down. I hope this improves, because it doesn't bode well for flyers.
bluebonnet must think Commissioner Nichol's work at TTC is more impressive than I. "sit" is an active verb, while "set" is passive. I think "set" more accurately reflects Commissioner Nichol's tenure. No wonder Staples was dragging Nichols in front of his committee so much. He was picking his own sucessor.
Poindexter, you haven't got the foggiest idea what you are talking about ---

Of particular note:
Now, county Republican Party Chairman Walter Wilkerson and [candidate Frank] Denton say they received calls from Staples around the same time Kleimann was called and Staples said he is supporting Nichols.
"I spoke to Sen. Staples about a week ago Tuesday (June 7) or Wednesday," Wilkerson told The Courier Wednesday, "and he told me about Nichols and his qualifications. He said he'd made a commitment to Nichols some time in the past, that he would support him. He told me, 'Normally, I don't do this but I'm going to support him.'"
Staples did not say anything to Wilkerson about asking Kleimann to drop out of the race, Wilkerson noted. "I told David, 'That sounds a little bit out of character for him," Wilkerson said. "I think he (Kleimann) misunderstood what he said."
True communication skills there.
