Friday Tidbits continued...Live from DemocracyFest

Here at DemocracyFest as people pour in for the GLBT caucus, the Texas Veterans caucus and the Blogger caucus. Word is, C-Span will be covering a DeLay panel discussion tomorrow. That could be hilarious.

As soon as we got a wireless connection a staffer IM'd us with these additonal tidbits about the rumors swirling this afternoon about a special. Here's the highlights.

--Apparently the Speaker's office is behind the Tuesday rumor when the Gov. and Lt. Gov. were thinking more like the 27th instead.
--Some think the Special will be targeted for a 3 day event.
--Pitts is still in the Carribean on vacation so if Perry needs his vote the Special may be on hold until he can get here.
--Judicial pay raises and school finance are on the agenda.
--There is a 'fragile' deal on school finance in place, but the Gov. wants more time to negotiate with Craddick.

And on the "Who's getting indicted?" front we hear a total of 8 indictments will come down. More on that later.

Now, we'll go wander over to where the free drinks are...what? No margarita machine? What kind of fresh hell is this?

Please tell us more about the Indictable 8. TAB? Speaker C? The Big Tom himself? We need something more than reruns and Bush's diving poll numbers to make it through the next three months.

Just for fun, I thought I'd post a comment here while listening to you speak at the bloggers caucus at DemocracyFest... and found that your security code feature is not very PDA-friendly - no security code showed up. (I was using a Treo 300 - fortunately I brought a laptop too :)

When you go to the Capitol home page (not the House home page) and click on members, there's a section where you can click to see what bills they authored, amended, etc. Well, there used to be only 79 (R). Now they've got 79 (1) up there, i.e., 79th session, first called special session.

It looks like it will happen.

Pink Dog--

Your presentation at the bloggers' caucus was inspiring and awesome. The comments that you made in the hallway about staying on message, speaking with a unified voice, and the critical life-and-death imperative for Democrats to communicate in lockstep were absolutely spot on. Now that Barbara has a challenger, your observations are even more relevant. Thanks--
