The Cowardly Madla

madlalion.jpg
That's right, Madla flipped. And, not in a good way. Senator Madla was on the list of 11 Senators to oppose HJR 6 and he's since changed his mind. Something cowards do a lot, or so we hear.

Without him, HJR 6 will come to the floor as early as Saturday and surely wind up on the November ballot. You know what it does? It brings all the ULTRA conservatives to the voting booth. It ensures Republican victories up and down the board.

Way to go you super dumbass cocksucker.

He says it was due to phone calls he's getting from his district. You lazy asses that think this is ridiculous better get to dialing quickly. Be sure to give Madla's office a ring and go, "ROWR, you weakling. Can't wait to vote for your opponent in the next primary."

Send your opposition research on Madla to my attention and I'll get it over to the TDP straightaway for the files on Democrats we're kicking out of office.

If only I lived in his district.
Funny though, I didn't know that politicians actually listened to their constituents. I sure as hell know mine doesn't.

I didn't vote for them. That's probably why.

Unfortunately, I think this was destined to happen. We can't all be living in one of the most red, jesus-lovin, Republican, bible-beaten states in these here United States, and expect anything else.

I personally thank all of those that did, however, attempt it from not happening. I also do not think any time or money should be wasted trying to defeat it in November. Our energies, time and money should go to something we can all be proud of and have a chance of some type of success.

gayinmidland at May 20, 2005 10:18 PM

one can not let this go to the ballot without a response. We can however come out ahead if we use this as campaign to get rid of the Martha Wongs Todd Baxters and Al Edwards of the House and what the hell let's make it hard for Madla if we does not stick with what he knows is right. He must have someone gay in his family that can shame him into doing the right thing.

SHOW TEXAS YOU GOT SOME COJONES!!

Jake at May 20, 2005 10:39 PM

This constitutional amendment albeit a stupid, waste of time will pass in overwheleming fashion.

Paul at May 21, 2005 1:28 AM

Can you say "State Sen. David Leibowitz"?

Zangwell Arrow at May 21, 2005 9:25 AM

One of the mistakes our gay brothers have made in California is that they are radicals who often wear ugly clothes and bad makeup. The average guy on the street looks at such as what it is - radical. Gays in Texas would be better advised to attempt to be more middle-of-the-road to foster trust, allies and a better foundation for Texas gay rights in the future.

gayinmidland at May 21, 2005 9:30 AM

I've never seen LGRL wearing crazy clothes at the Capitol...but I have seen a lot of Republican women in spangley outfits...gayinmidland what have you done to support this fight? I bet not a lot!

Jake at May 21, 2005 10:37 AM

Very disappointed in Madla... I really thought he was a good guy.

Edmonton dominated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and the 4-0 margin in Game 6 makes it hard to imagine the Oilers not hoisting hockey's Holy Grail above their heads in less than 48 hours. And it would not come as any shock to see defenseman Chris Pronger, who had another 31-minute night, take the honors for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.
