Special session or no?

We can't believe there won't be a special session, as the education bill has yet to be finally decided on. We ask you now, do you think there will be a special session? If so, when? And where do you wish you could be instead?

I'd say the dawgg days of August and I'd much rather be eating lobster in Kennebunkport.

Publius Tex at May 25, 2005 2:25 PM

No special session - not a chance.

blondie at May 25, 2005 9:00 PM

Yes. July. Some state that pays its teachers well and reaps the benefits of having an educated workforce. Michigan, maybe?

bittergradstudent at May 25, 2005 11:01 PM

There probably won't be a ruling from the supreme court until late fall early/ early winter. That means after the primarys. I am guessing they will pass a plan in the 4th called.

Special session after court case decision appeals, April '06

Do we really think Perry will call a special session before election season? Re-election campaigns start...oh...May 31st. He doesn't want this going on with all of his House members and half of his Senators running for re-elec.

No...he'll let the courts do their thing and bring it back after the Fall elections...Oh, wait, that'd be the 2007 Regular Session.

Anonymous at May 27, 2005 4:09 PM

Oh yeah...not to mention the easy time that Perry is guaranteed to have on his campaign.

Anonymous at May 27, 2005 4:10 PM

I'd trade 1,000 special sessions for this wheelchair. Dang.

mlp at May 27, 2005 8:15 PM

July if Budget does not pass, much later if it does. If there is a special session I would rather be cleaning portable toilets outside of special events throughout these special summer months.
