Apparently there was some talk about sneaking gambling in under the existing lottery laws. If you hooked all of the slot machines up to a single mainframe, you could argue that what you have is really a lottery run by a single machine, and not individual slot machines. Sneaky, no? Not sure if this is still being considered, or how far the discussions got, or even whose idea this was
