But the House Public Health Committee is meeting right now. Talking about minors and abortion. Fun, fun!
This bill they are discussing states that it "may be cited as the Woman's Health Protection Act." Ha!
This witness right now - I think he's trying to make a point, but he is all over the place.
League of Women Voters is against the bill - which reminds me I have vote soon. . .
and of course National Organization of Women is there saying they're against the bill. Which is sooo surprising!
She believes that people should be free. We totally condone that. She says this bill is a way to "put fear in people's hearts". She states that this bill will affect low-income women, especially.
Now an attorney is testifying against the bill. She has represented minors before and objects to the attack on confidentiality.
Some of the committee members keep saying that the names of the minors will not be released. Which is just a joke.
How will collecting statistics help women's health? It won't. This bill is ridiculous.
Rep. Coleman asks a resource witness if there are other such procedures that we keep statistics for, such as plastic surgery. I didn't make that up, he really did ask that.
HB2997 will be left pending so the committee can recess.
If Garnet Coleman and Yvonne Davis has a child, I do believe, with all my heart, that it would be the dumbest human being to EVER walk the earth.
