How come we just saw this from the Feb. 17 DMN?

Mothers and fathers whose parental rights are terminated by a judge should have to pay child support to the state, a key lawmaker said Thursday. Rep. Suzanna Gratia Hupp, R-Lampasas, said parents who lose their parental rights because they abused or neglected their child often have more children. "There seems to be no deterrent to them just turning around and doing it all over again, and there have been many instances where we as a state have to go once again and strip them of their rights of those children as well," she said. Ms. Hupp is chairwoman of the House Human Services Committee, which is reviewing reforms to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Uhm, could we suggest perhaps sex education that promotes something other than abstinence? Or how about just education? Oh, and Rep. Hussy, as chairwoman of the House Human Services Committee could you tell us the economic status of parents who are having their parental rights stripped from them? Oh, they are all rich white people that can afford to pay the state and won't further marginalize them from society or drive them further into lives of crime and poverty? Oh, ok..thanks for clearing that up. Ass-HAT.
